Thomas Hunt Morgan believed in the transformative power of eugenics. After a decade of breeding thousands of mutant fruit flies, Morgan made a startling discovery: the mechanism of heredity in fruit flies was more complex than previously thought. It would lead to his disillusion with eugenics as a whole.
