Asked how he would guarantee that Americans with pre-existing health conditions would not pay more for health insurance, Ohio Sen. JD Vance answered “we’re going to cover Americans with pre-existing conditions.”
At the CBS Vice Presidential Debate, Vance claimed former President Donald Trump’s administration saw lower prescription drug prices than during Vice President Kamala Harris’ tenure.
“When Donald Trump was actually president — and again, he has a record to be proud of — prescription drug prices fell in 2018 for the first time in a very long time. Under Kamala Harris’s leadership, prescription drugs are up about 7 percent. Under Donald Trump’s entire four years, they were up about 1.5 percent. He introduced pricing transparency,” Vance said.
Vance also claimed that Trump “salvaged Obamacare,” though PolitiFact rated that statement as false.
With just more than a month to go before Election Day, Vance and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz met for their first and only vice presidential debate on Oct. 1, hosted by CBS in New York.
