WATERTOWN, NY (July 10, 2024) – WPBS is seeking a new host for its long-running high school quiz series, Whiz Quiz, now in its 44th season.
Hosting duties require a sizable time commitment in October. Taping is scheduled to start around October 8 and end approximately October 24, four days per week. On average, three shows are taped daily, starting at 8 am and finishing in the early afternoon. The host will be required to work with judges on finalizing questions and familiarizing themselves with pronunciation and wording. This is a paid hosting position.
Successful candidates should have some live television or online experience, be enthusiastic and energetic, be able to excite and connect with high school students, and be able to speak and read fluently. Educational or classroom experience is a plus.
Auditions will be held in early August. Interested candidates should submit a resume and demo video via a YouTube link to Tracy DuFlo, Director of Production and Executive Producer, tduflo@wpbstv.org.
