Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene filed a “motion to vacate” against House Speaker Mike Johnson in an effort to oust him just a few months into his leadership after the House voted to pass a series of spending bills on Friday to keep the government open.
Greene was among dozens of Republicans who objected to the $1.2 trillion package over issues like earmarks, overall spending and the border. She was also part a coalition of far-right Republicans who used the motion to vacate procedure as a means to remove former Republican speaker Kevin McCarthy when he formed an agreement with Democrats last fall to extend funding and keep the government from shutting down.
