WPBS Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day in March with Special Programming

WATERTOWN, NY (February 27, 2024) – Regular viewers know WPBS-TV is big on St. Patrick’s Day – and this year, the two-nation station has some great Irish music and documentary programs including a Celtic Thunder “doubleheader” with Celtic Thunder Odyssey (Sunday, March 3rd at 5:00 pm) and Celtic Thunder Ireland (Friday, March 15th, 9:00 pm).

Saturdays

Ireland with Michael (5:30 pm)

Hosted by Michael Londa, the travel series follows in the footsteps of his curated tours, embellishing the story of Ireland through the eyes and hearts of its greatest assets – its creators, painters, singers, dancers and storytellers.

Sunday, March 3

Celtic Thunder Odyssey (5:00 pm)

A captivating musical journey filmed in an Irish manor estate. With insightful conversations and the CT Band’s prowess, this is a must-see blend of music, storytelling, and Irish Culture.

Tuesday, March 12

WPBS Weekly: Inside the Stories (7:30 pm)

Go inside the SS Keewatin passenger liner, soon to be part of the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes in Kingston. Meet Matt Rozler, a woodworker in Saint Lawrence County. Irish step dancers prepare for Saint Patrick’s Day.

Friday, March 15

Celtic Thunder Ireland (9:00 pm)

A Revue show that combines 10 years of Celtic Thunder hits and focuses on their most popular songs of the last decade, their Irish and Celtic fan favorites.

Sunday, March 17

Celtic Awakening w/Faith Marion Robinson (12 noon)

An expression of love, a story of peace, and a land of hope. Experience the spirit of Ireland like never before as you’re transported through song to the magic of the Emerald Isle throughout the ages.

Irish Dance: Steps in Freedom (1:00 pm)

Featuring breathtaking performances by some of the greatest dancers of our age. Hosted by young Irish dance phenom and viral TikTok sensation Morgan Bullock.

Hidden Ireland (2:00 pm)

Peter Greenberg explores the hidden gems of Dublin, Cliffs of Moher, Belfast, Ashford Castle & Cape Clear.

Celtic Dreams: Daniel Hope’s Hidden Irish History (3:00 pm)

Behind the wheel of a Morris Traveler, internationally acclaimed violinist Daniel Hope explores Ireland, music, and his family legacy.
