Miriam and Alan: Lost in Scotland Season 2 Premieres on WPBS-TV in November 2023

WATERTOWN, NY (October 30, 2023) – Back and better than ever, actors Miriam Margoyles (Call the Midwife; Harry Potter) and Alan Cumming (Masterpiece Mystery; The Good Wife) embark on another adventure filled with sharing personal memories and making new ones, with lots of belly-aching laughter along the way.

Miriam and Alan: Lost in Scotland Season 2 premieres on WPBS-TV Thursdays at 8:00 pm, starting November 2nd, 2023. Follow these two friends as they travel to spectacular locations, catch up with old friends, and meet new, interesting people. 

In Season 2, Miriam and Alan are joined by Alan’s dog Lala as they rediscover more of their Scottish roots and then make their way across the pond to America. In Scotland they take a ride on the Harry Potter Express steam train, enjoy the scenic views of the Cairngorms National Park and The Isle of Skye, and also visit an anarchist café in Glasgow. While in the U.S., they go on an epic road trip that takes them to Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Las Vegas. The four-episode season, produced by Blink Films and distributed to the public television system by American Public Television, is available to stream with WPBS Passport online at watch.wpbstv.org and with the Free PBS App.

EPISODE DESCRIPTIONS

Episode #201 (Thursday, November 2 at 8:00 pm)

Miriam and Alan are back rip-roaring across Scotland… and beyond! They ride the Harry Potter Express steam train and head to the glorious Cairngorms National Park before Alan conducts an LGBTQ+ wedding.

Episode #202  (Thursday, November 9 at 8:00 pm)

Miriam and Alan head to The Isle of Skye for a magical boat trip and some wand whittling, before visiting a Jewish, LGBTQ+, vegan, anarchist café in Glasgow. Miriam and Alan finally end up in the U.S. to begin the American leg of their travels.

Episode #203  (Thursday, November 16 at 8:00 pm)

Miriam and Alan visit a Santa Barbara ‘drug den’. In Palm Springs, they enjoy drag bingo and join a gay knitting group. Then, it’s on to L.A. where Miriam takes Alan to meet a relative she’s never met in person.

Episode #204  (Thursday, November 23 at 8:00 pm)

In the series finale, Miriam, Alan and Lala visit a dog healing center in L.A. and meet for a picnic with actress Saffron Burrows (Alan’s ex) And in Las Vegas, a cabaret show leaves Miriam utterly speechless… for once!
