The Pentagon declassified video footage Thursday of what it described as a Russian fighter jet spilling fuel onto an unmanned U.S. surveillance drone over the Black Sea on Tuesday.
One of the drone’s propellers was damaged during the encounter, leading to U.S. officials to down the drone into the sea. Russian officials deny striking the drone.
This is the latest incident raising tensions between Russia and the United States since the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine.
