Once-in 1,000 year storm hits North Carolina #shorts

North Carolina just experienced a once in-1,000 year rain event. From Sunday into Monday, Carolina Beachreceived 18-plus inches of rain within 12 hours. Other nearby areas experienced more than a foot of precipitation in that time. The National Hurricane Center said the storm didn’t quite qualify to be a tropical storm but recorded wind gusts reached as high as 77 mph.
