WATCH: Afghan president on U.S. support: ‘I trust them’

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said the U.S. is committed to providing economic and humanitarian support to his country, despite the U.S. and NATO decisions to withdraw troops and the increasing violence that Afghans have blamed on their country’s government. “The United States, fortunately, shares the values of supporting the gains of the last 20 years,” he told @amnaonpbs in an interview on Monday’s PBS NewsHour. “Our discussion is enormously productive.” When asked whether he was satisfied with the level of U.S. support to Afghanistan, Ghani said, “I trust them. Yes.”
