Established in 1967 and located on Big Rideau Lake, Murphy’s Point Provincial Park is part of the historic Rideau Waterway, the Silver Queen Mine, an early 1900s mica mine is on-site. Tours of the mine and other regular interpretive programs run from end of June to Labor Day and scheduled during fall weekends. Hiking trails are groomed in the winter for skiing and a multitude of Car and RV camping, group camping, backcountry camping (boat-in sites on the Rideau) is available. There is a great mix of wildlife habitat: forest, wetland, old fields and three lakes to explore at this Natural Environment Canadian park!
