Park it!  Celebrating our Region’s Finest

Join WPBS-TV on a journey to local parks on both sides of the border. Northern New York features great locations such as Whetstone Gulf State Park, with its three-mile-long hike around the gorge; Wellesley Island State Park, the largest camping complex in all of the Thousand Islands; the Massena area boasts two local parks – Coles Creek State Park and the Robert Moses State Park. In the Adirondack region, we visit Cranberry Lake to feature its 50-mile hike, boating, fishing, and more. Eastern Ontario’s journey takes us to Murphy’s Point Provincial Park, situated on the Eastern edge of the Canadian Shield, where we’ll visit dormant mines and follow trails leading to abandoned pioneer homesteads and a sawmill; Frontenac Provincial Park complete with a visitor centre that teaches nature and wildlife and is open year-round with over 160 kilometers of hiking trails; and, Charleston Lake Provincial Park hosting archeological sites and natural rock formations.
