This grant funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting,
will enable WPBS-TV to offer services specifically focused on literacy development of
children ages 2 – 8 years old. The most valuable service we will be offering is
free parent, teacher, and child care provider training to people in our broadcast
community.
Workshops will include valuable information on how PBS Kids
programming can be used in the classroom or home to encourage literacy development.
These workshops will not be your ‘average’
workshop. Every participant will receive a free book for a child in their care and
many more PBS Kids giveaways. Most importantly these workshops will provide valuable
information to parents, child care providers, and teachers are working with children every
day.
